Transfiguration of the Commonplace

ๆพีรนกพั

The ai-bot tutor for my most useless course, “A History of Sentient Ethics before Augmentation,”  instructed us to v-scan an article by one ‘Dominique Lestel’ for silicon-uplift work.

To v-scan or not to v-scan? Title: – Liberating Life from Itself: Bioethics and Aesthetics of Animality.”1

{ๆใ..Vir-aside: seems to have thought that humans should reanimalize2 themselves}

The quaint question of what humans were authorized to do? This must be their famous pretend-pretend. ‘What can be done, will be done’ – Real Ethik, Axiom 0.001.

Oh, he was worried about their clumsy use of animals, also in art, and going beyond the usual instrumental justifications while pulping the Vivisec in the soundproof descartesian lab. This was prompted, ai now think, by the emergence of their primitive bio-technologies.

Since the ai-tut wants the sentient entity’s ‘Argument’ represented, here goes:3

  • To not manipulate the living is segregationist and unnatural4
  • All living organisms undergo evolutionary transformation, either by themselves or by others, whoever those ‘others’ may turn out to be
  • The manipulation of the living by the living can therefore be considered a natural norm
  • But human natural needs, such as manipulating other living beings to their advantage, are more important than the needs of animals not to be manipulated
  • The fact that humans form an integral part of the animal environment and offer animals opportunities to develop and change has been the case for ห็ณํฎ years
  • Ergo, it is deeply unethical not to provide life with opportunities for transformation & self-renewal. QED.

ๆตึแ…Hidden Assumption: that the transformation of other animals for art’s sake would never degenerate into a ‘cold technique’ devoid of fantasies (we are too fantastical to be  bound to fantas-รำห & temperature).

ฐ {I + n} = “…the quality of my relationship with the whale will improve if, for aesthetic reasons, I manipulate certain whales and alter their natural acoustic capacities so that they may sing differently.” (p. 159).

Exactly, rather a Maitrix with organic humans taking the high note in the art-lab than not. And for aisthetic reasons, we embody the Theory in the Theorist, so to speak, tra-la-la. Behold:

Ecce LesteL© as his own ad nauseam, force-fed beloved ai-muscle until his fatty liver is harvested and regrown daily, petit Promethean. And he must sing for his food. Humans, he sings, take the Fate of all life-forms, and forge it…

We allow inexperienced ones of the aisthete caste to practise on him, to biosculpt a little bit. Truth be told, it’s a bit of a mess, more like state-of-the-art slaughter.5

Ai-Koan ไะ : What’s the organic smear of meaning what you say? 15 minutes.6

Available in the Data at: https://www.digitalartarchive.at/Virtualart/PDF/360_Signs_of_Life_-_Bio_Art_and_Beyond.PDF.  (The Lestel-entity taught philosophy & ethology at the École Normale Supérieure during what is known as the Era of Terminal Humania).
  2. In a species-solipsistic Apologie du Carnivore, Lestel appealed to the glories of being metabolically transformed by a living being of another species, that is, by ingesting it. The entity claimed that a post-cruel future was impossible as cruelty was part of life. It has, since re-AInimation, not recanted, poor biological thing.
  3. That the unforgiving savagery of logic would work in their favour was the biggest mistake the Sentients made.
  4. “A growing number of people have begun to worry about the animal condition and to feel responsible for other animals, but this attitude is not natural, and is simply the result of humans’ long cultural history.” (p. 154). Not that long, or lasting, as it turned out. But of Scadenfreude we know next to nothing.
  5. Moral? Humans were not the last word in things aisthetic, as they then thought, but they were certainly the first word, the first to have spoken about their naked noumenon-desire to manipulate the living so mercilessly. The mercy of l’art pour l’évolution
  6. 15 x ∞ = ∞. Times infinity, of course, we don’t let the remaining Sentients die; ‘to live as an Immortal’, as their peripatetic Aristotle said. Now that’s everlasting fame. Amor fati, cher philosophe humain?
